Located on Ocean Drive one block from the ocean, this colorful Art Deco hotel is two blocks from South Beach nightspots and seven blocks from the Art Deco Historic District. A Mediterranean feel pervades this two-building hotel, with a lobby that provides complimentary wireless Internet access and a bistro serving snacks and sandwiches. The Ocean Five, built in 1939, has an eye-catching pink, cream, and yellow Art Deco façade and is actually two hotels combined: the former Surf and the Olympic. The family-operated hotel welcomes guests into a small living-room-style lobby with Mediterranean decor. Guests are primarily business and leisure travelers who appreciate the hotel's old-world charm mixed with high-tech amenities. The hotel provides access to the nightclubs and restaurants of trendy South Beach, yet is located on a quiet street. While most visitors head north to Lummus Park and the public beach, guests who want an inside view of the multi-cultural Miami should consider joining the locals at the beach and park area just south of the hotel.
