Opened in 2001, the five-building Royal Palm South Beach (formerly Royal Palm Crowne Plaza) consists of two meticulously restored Art Deco hotels and two modern towers designed by the renowned architectural firm Arquitectonica. The guests are an equal mix of business travelers and vacationers, primarily couples and singles. The Royal Palm claims to be among the country's first and largest African-American owned and developed hotels.

 

 

 

The Royal Palm South Beach is 1 mile from Lincoln Road Mall, a bustling pedestrian mall that's home to a wide selection of shops, restaurants, and cafés, along with a multiplex cinema and a symphony hall. It's a great place to wander and people-watch. On weekends in-season, the mall hosts an antiques market and a farmers' market.

The five-building hotel complex, arranged around a courtyard, is made up of two modern towers and two skillfully restored 1930s hotels. The hotel blends Art Deco style with contemporary services and amenities such as business and fitness centers, a gift shop, and 6,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a ballroom.

 

The hotel's two outdoor pools are located on two different levels, one beachside and one on the mezzanine level. Both have poolside bars. On the beach, guests relax in blue Royal Palm lounge chairs, shaded by yellow umbrellas. Hotel staff provide cold facial towels, radio headsets, and board games such as backgammon and chess.

The Royal Palm South Beach has 417 guestrooms located in five buildings, including two modern towers and a restored, two-story cabana building dating from the 1930s. Rooms have views of the city or the ocean, and many have private balconies. The rooms are decorated in contemporary style with tropical themes—for example, the exclusive fabric designs in the guest rooms were inspired by the hotel's name, "Royal Palm."
