This resort hotel directly across from the beach sits atop BeachPlace Mall, two blocks from the Intracoastal Waterway and
five miles from the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art. A tunnel provides safe passage under the traffic
to the beach; guests also enjoy an outdoor pool with two spa tubs, a sundeck with games tables, a fitness center, and kids’
activities. The 206 extra-large guestrooms are decorated in pastel hues with light-wood furnishings,
ceiling fans, refrigerators, and furnished balconies with ocean or Intracoastal Waterway views
With a prime location atop popular BeachPlace Mall and across from the ocean beach, this hotel draws guests
before and after their cruises; vacationing families, and corporate types who want to be in the middle of the all the Fort
Lauderdale action, yet literally above it. The hotel starts at the sixth floor of the mall, and the lobby area features a
colorful aquarium. A tunnel leads under the street directly to the beach, but there’s plenty to do at the Marriott
itself. The hotel has an outdoor lap pool with two spa tubs and large sundeck with pool table, Ping-Pong table, and bar. The
spacious fitness center includes men’s and women’s saunas. The hotel offers structured activities for children, as well as
a supervised play center that includes a game room, movie room, and gym. Greater Fort Lauderdale is known as
the Venice of America, with miles of restaurants, shops, and multimillion-dollar homes along the Intracoastal Waterway. The
best way to see it all is via the 70-seat, air-conditioned Water Bus that stops at 20 spots throughout Fort Lauderdale, including
a stop one block from the hotel. An all-day pass is $5 (price subject to change).
